Pink Walruses on the Bering Sea

Walruses are extremely social, hauling out onto land or ice floes in large mixed groups by the hundreds or even thousands. Their skin color changes according to their activity. Typically cinnamon brown or grayish, they flush rose-red or pink when sunbathing, as if they were getting sunburned.
