Solo

This lone Adelie penguin positioned himself high on this huge snow-covered chunk of sea ice and curiously watched us cruising around in the iceburg strewn waters in Orne Harbor, Antarctica.  They are fearless, friendly, feisty, and fun to photograph. When onshore with no penguins in sight, curious Adelies might appear suddenly, tobogganing along on their bellies until they are close enough to inspect just who has entered their world.
