First Peek

This is the first good photograph of the chick. The nest is huge, extending way back into a limestone crevice so the chick can retreat safely out of sight and out of the weather. The nest has been used successfully for over 40 years. On this day, I am photographing from my vehicle, about 60 yards away. The first rule with nesting birds is to do no harm and cause no disturbance.
