Solo

This lone Adelie penguin positioned himself high on this huge snow-covered piece of sea ice and curiously watched us crusing in a zodiac around the ice dotted waters in Orne Harbor, Antarctica.  They are fearless, friendly, feisty, and fun to photograph. When onshore with no penguins in sight, curious Adelies might appear suddenly, tobogganing along on their bellies until they are close enough to see just who has entered their world.
